Dense Concrete Blocks
Dense concrete blocks are suitable for use in both internal and external walls, offering a versatile solution for a wide range of building and construction applications. Available in a selection of sizes, strengths and finishes, these blocks provide flexibility for residential, commercial and industrial projects.
Available in solid and hollow formats, dense blocks are commonly supplied with a standard compressive strength of 7.3N/mm². Higher strength options up to 22.5N/mm² may be available subject to specification and order requirements.

Applications
These dense concrete blocks are suitable for use above and below DPC, both internally and externally. They are ideal for general blockwork, wall construction, extensions, commercial builds and areas where durable masonry units are required.
Finish Options
Standard finish blocks are suitable for locations where the surface will not be visible, such as areas that will be plastered or rendered.
Paintgrade blocks are suitable where a consistent, close-textured face is required and may be used for direct decoration. Typically, one face and one end are guaranteed for finish quality.
Manufacturing Standards
Dense concrete blocks are manufactured using a semi-dry process and are compliant with BS EN 771-3 for Category II masonry units. Production is carried out under recognised quality and environmental management systems, including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards where applicable.
Sustainability
Manufactured in the UK using locally sourced aggregates where possible, dense concrete blocks offer a durable and recyclable construction material. Responsible sourcing practices may include quality management, environmental management, health and safety management, greenhouse gas monitoring, reduced raw material usage, labour practice assessment, biodiversity considerations and community engagement.
Installation Guidance
All plastering and rendering work should follow the recommendations set out in BS EN 13914. In areas of severe exposure, a three-coat render system is recommended.
