Our rapid response underfloor heating EPS400 overlay boards are lightweight, super strong, easy to fit and designed to be laid over any existing or new floor.
The aluminium covering will give optimum system performance and is perfect for both commercial & residential use. Suitable for use under laminate, engineered wood, carpet, vinyl and tiles, the EPS overlay floor panel offers an easy way to install water underfloor heating over an existing floor.
The panels are laid directly onto the existing concrete, floorboards or solid flooring and are a perfect choice for retrofit installations. With a minimal height increase of just 20mm and a high compressive strength of 400KPA they are lightweight, simple to fit and can be installed with only basic tools.
Each panel measures 1200x600x20mm and takes a 15 or 16mm pipe at 150mm pipe spacings.
They are pre-formed with straight runs, return loops and cross runs at one end, and covered with a layer of aluminium. The aluminium spreads the heat quickly & evenly across the surface to maximise the output and efficiency of the system.
The panels can be laid onto any existing, level flooring and should be fixed securely using Rapid Response Spray Adhesive.
EPS panels are made from high compressive strength Expanded PolyStyrene (EPS). EPS400 is the strongest density available today.
Adhesive Consumption Rate Wood/tiled subfloor – 5sqm/can Spray only the subfloor then lay the board onto the glue.
Concrete/porous subfloor – 2.5sqm/can. Spray the subfloor AND the underside of the board so you are putting glue to glue.
Flooring Advice:
- Laminate/Engineered wood Lay flooring directly onto the EPS floor panel as a floating floor. If no underlay is pre-bonded to the underside of the planks use our 3mm breathable underlay before laying the floor boards. Do not exceed 20mm board depth!
- Carpet/Vinyl Prime the surface of the EPS board using Mapei Eco Prim Grip then a cover with 5-6mm fibre reinforced self levelling screed. We recommend Mapei Ultraplan. Ensure the board and channels are fully and evenly covered for a smooth, level finish. Carpet & underlay combined should not exceed 2tog.
- Tile/Stone Prime the board surface using Mapei Eco Prim Grip, then cover with a 5-6mm self levelling screed. Tile directly onto the screed using Ultra ProFlex S2 Flexible Tile Adhesive. Ensure to use a highly deformable flexible S2 tile adhesive. Do not exceed 20mm tile depth- ideally 15mm or less! Maximum pipe length: 20mm panel = 100m
