Everbuild® Black Jack® 901 Black Bitumen Paint – 5 L

Solvent-based, full-bodied bituminous paint supplied in a 5 L tin. When dry, it forms an odourless, taint-free black film that provides effective waterproofing, weather protection, and corrosion resistance across a wide range of substrates.

Typical applications

• Protection of metal surfaces: corrugated iron sheets, fire escapes, stairways, ladders, storage tanks, gutters, downpipes, fences, railings, gates.
• Protective coating for concrete structures, stone, brick, screeds, and sand/cement surfaces.
• Overcoating on felt and wood for weather resistance.

Usage guidance

• Stir thoroughly before use; the product is ready to use and must not be thinned.
• Apply by brush or spray. Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, stable, and free from rust or contaminants.
• Apply a minimum of two coats. Allow the first coat to dry (typically 2–4 hours) before applying the second.
• For non-porous substrates, yield is approximately 11 m² per litre; on porous surfaces, 4–6 m² per litre. Typical film thickness per coat: wet 0.1 mm, dry 0.05 mm.
• Clean tools immediately with white spirit after use.

Good to know

Avoid use in areas where solvent contact is likely. Not suitable for potable water tanks. Bitumen paint may bleed through subsequent coatings; apply a suitable primer before overcoating if necessary. Always verify compatibility with future paint layers and ensure adequate ventilation during application.
