Everbuild® Black Jack® 908 D.P.M. – 5 L

Ready-to-use, odourless rubber-enriched bitumen emulsion supplied in a 5 L tin. Ideal for use as a sandwich damp-proof membrane for floors, waterproofing above-ground walls, foundations, and even for bonding insulation, plaster, tiles, and wood panels.

Typical applications

• Sandwich damp-proof membrane under concrete or screed.
• Waterproofing walls, bridge abutments, retaining walls, culverts, and foundations.
• Adhesive for wood block/mosaic flooring, insulation boards, cork and plaster bonding on glazed or non-suction surfaces.
• Curing membrane for freshly cast concrete.

Usage guidance

• Ensure surfaces are clean, sound, dust-free—dampen very absorbent substrates before application.
• Apply two coats for DPM or waterproofing: each at ~0.5 L/m² with a soft brush, allowing each coat to dry fully.
• When bonding wood blocks or mosaic panels: dip or spread and place immediately (coverage ~1.1 L/m² for blocks; ~0.8 L/m² for mosaics).
• For bonding/pasting surfaces like glazed tiles: apply two coats at ~0.25 L/m², sand the final coat, and wait 48 hours before plastering.
• Clean tools with water; use kerosene or white spirit only if cured residue remains.

Product details

• Pack size: 5 L tin (also available in 25 L).
• Colour when dry: Black.
• Density: approx. 1.0 g/cm³ at 20 °C.
• Resistant to salt solutions, dilute acids and alkalis, and water; not resistant to oils, solvents, or certain detergents.
• Storage: Keep sealed between 5–25 °C, protect from frost. Shelf life: ~24 months.

Good to know

Not a substitute for structural damp-proof courses in walls. Avoid decorating directly with gloss or oil-based paints over the treated area; if plastering, apply lining paper first. Respect the 48-hour drying before render or plaster applications for best adhesion.
