    Introduction

    This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement relates to actions and activities during the financial year 01/07/2024 to 30/06/2025.

    The statement sets down County Building Supplies (Holdings) Ltd commitment to preventing slavery and human trafficking in our business activities and the steps we have put in place with the aim of ensuring that there is no slavery or human trafficking in our own business and supply chains. We all have a duty to be alert to risks, however small. Staff are expected to report their concerns and management to act upon them.

    Our Business

    This statement covers the business activities of County Building Supplies (Holdings) Ltd which are as follows:

    The County Building Supplies Group sell building, plumbing & heating materials to trade professionals and the public. Operating from 16 locations under 6 Ltd Companies, across the United Kingdom.

    Responsibility for the Company’s anti-slavery initiatives is as follows:

    1. The Company has overall responsibility for ensuring this policy complies with our legal and ethical obligations, and that all those under our control comply with it.
    2. The HR manager has primary and day-to-day responsibility for implementing this policy, monitoring its use and effectiveness, dealing with any queries about it, and auditing internal control systems and procedures to ensure they are effective in countering modern slavery.
    3. Management at all levels are responsible for ensuring those reporting to them understand and comply with this policy and are given adequate and regular training on it and the issue of modern slavery in supply chains.

    Training

    The prevention, detection and reporting of modern slavery in any part of our business or supply chains is the responsibility of all those working for us or under our control. Our staff are required to avoid any activity that might lead to, or suggest, a breach of this policy.

    Training on this policy, and on the risk our business faces from modern slavery in its Supply chains, forms part of the induction process for all individuals who work for us, and regular training will be provided as necessary.

    Due Diligence Processes for Slavery and Human Trafficking

    The Company undertakes due diligence when considering taking on new suppliers, and regularly reviews its existing suppliers. Our zero-tolerance approach to addressing the issue of modern slavery in our business and supply chains is communicated to all suppliers, contractors and business partners at the outset of our business relationship with them and reinforced as appropriate on an ongoing basis.

    This Statement affirms its intention to act ethically in our business relationships. This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement will be regularly reviewed and updated as necessary.
