Wet Underfloor Heating

Wet Underfloor Heating is a modern, fully automated system to provide climate control below the floor. While many heating solutions are available for rooms above ground level, none are as effective or flexible as underfloor heating. A sustainable and energy efficient heating solution that would offer freedom in design and comfort in living space.

The water is used as a heat transfer medium and is stored, during off-peak times, in a tank that can be either installed below or above ground. The advantages of having the storage tank below ground are mostly related to aesthetics. Since the heating is fully automated it requires no skills from the user to operate and maintain.

A supply and return water pipe network is installed in the floor slab of the room to be heated. The underfloor heating mat is connected to this water system and installed completely flat on top of the laid flooring, therefore having no height difference. When power is applied to the underfloor heating mats water starts circulating through them and heats up.

Wet Underfloor heating is the most energy efficient heating system available. It will provide you with savings year on year in energy bills when compared with radiator-based systems, due to its even coverage and close proximity to the floor surface. On average people who have installed underfloor heating report double digit savings in their annual fuel bill.

Wet underfloor heating is very environmentally friendly and has a low carbon footprint. The system uses water as its main method of transferring heat, with an electric pump to circulate the water

This means that there are no fan or gas based systems within the floor itself. The only energy used by the system is minimal electricity needed to operate the heat pumps.

Electric Underfloor Heating

Electric underfloor heating systems use a network of wires running in a mat which is fitted under the surface of the floor. They warm the floor but are not as good at heating the room, so are best installed in smaller rooms such as bathrooms.

Underfloor heating delivers a family-friendly and safe environment. No low-level hot surfaces or hard metal edges that come with a radiator systems, which can create a potentially unsafe and dangerous environment for small children, the elderly, or those vulnerable and at risk.
