Underfloor Heating Multilayer Pipe 16x2mm for heating and water supply, made from a 5 layer composite material using PE-RT as the inner and outer layers coupled with a 0.2 mm thick aluminium core with butt-welded construction. Maximum operating pressure 10bar; maximum operating temperature 70oC. 16mm Underfloor heating pipe is now the most widely used size for domestic applications. 15mm Underfloor heating pipe is widely used by John Guest, which we can offer. 16mm pipe has become extremely competitive on price whilst also becoming cheaper than Screwfix. Ideal for use in Underfloor heating systems, thanks to its superior construction. Can also be used with Press Fitting for domestic water supply.

    Questions and Answers

    Q. What size pipe is best for underfloor heating? A. Depends on the aplication. For Domestic builds, traditional systems allow for 15-17mm pipe depending on the brand being used. With renovations/retro builds, low profile systems use 10-12mm pipe, again depending on the brand. Commercial applications tend to use 20mm pipe as this will allow for higher flow rates and longer loop runs. Q. Can the underfloor heating pipe be joined? A. Yes, but would always recommend against this where possible. With most installations, a joiner would void the warranty. We supply joiners. Q. Can speedfit be used for underfloor heating? A. Yes, but it's not always the cheapest system available. Q. What is the water flow temperature? A. Will vary between 35 - 60°C degrees, depending on the heat loss. Depending on the application, thermostatic mixing valves (boiler systems) are usually set at 45°C for screeded floors and 55°C for suspended or floating floors. With a Heat pump, this is usually designed for you so please check with the manufacturer.
